Amber Shield fogging up
What is everyone using to stop your visor from fogging?? I bought the Anti fog spray, thats doesnt work. I keep my helmet on the radiator before i run but as soon as the shield comes down and i breath it fogs up
Ant suggestions that work?
Thanks in advance

I just leave it up until I leave and slap it down. Only thing that works every time.

I use to put Rain-x anti-fog on my shield and glasses. The other thing I used to do was stick my top lip out and breath the air down over my chin. A trick I learned from years of snowmobiling.

You sometimes can buy a breath shield piece to block your warm breath from going up and fogging the shield. It’s just a curtain type piece. I had one helmet that was always a problem. I put the shield in their and no more fogging.

In the off season I had a helmet skirt installed so I would not have to wear a head sock. I have found the fogging has got worse. I believe with the skirt there is no where for for my hot breath to go and also prevents cool air from entering the helmet while going down track.

At night I always close the shield with my thumb under it to leave it open just a bit.

I had to give up a round a few years ago when the shield fogged up so bad that I had zero vision. I use the same trick as Mr. Leonard and if possible just hold my breath until I can get air flowing into the shield. I've tried all the "Anti-Fogging" sprays and never had any success.

When it’s helmet fogging weather I hit the tree with the shield up then flip it down before the car takes off. My wife does what Tony does, leaves the shield slightly open and it closes itself when the car leaves.

Find the cheapest dollar store shaving cream and rub it on the shield until its gone. Using a soft cloth to avoid scratching of course. Not a permanent fix by any stretch, but it does work for a short period of time.

Hey Jim. How are you doing? And who the hell came up with that?

Man, if I was any better, there'd have to be two of me. Lol.

On the shaving cream deal, I was told that years ago by somebody, I wish I could remember who. It was back in the old Hallsville days. But I've tried it and it works for me.

I always left with my shield open and smacked it down when the car left. Too dangerous to stage with a fogged up shield plus you can't see the tree.

Steve:

At 79, my wife informed me that there's no hot air left.

Increased the height of the wind screen two inches, initially leaving with the shield up then flipping it down while holding my breath to the turn off. Problem solved.

For us old guys I can remember when they would not even let you stage with your visor up

I had a starter smack mine down before as I was pre-staging.

That is why getting a fresh air system for my helmet was the best thing ever. Never have an issue with fogging for either my glasses or shield.
