I run my 665" (4.607" bore right now, 5" stroke) to about 8000 n/a, up to about 8500 on the spray... before the latest version of that, I hit 9800 once, but that was purely by accident.....

Max RPM? I say 100 rpm short of the rods exiting the engine....Anyways, I bracket race and make 200+ runs per year on average so I stay at 7000 RPM max on my 4.15 stroke 4.39 bore engine.

It will definitely run quicker with more gear but would have probably died long ago. The pistons are 14 years old lol. Eek

On my 454 SBC peak power was 7450 RPM, I usually shifted at 7600. Rev limiter chip set at 8,000 RPM. I know it has went 8500 several times when transmission broke. That motor has made a LOT OF PASSES and Dyno pulls. It has all good parts, Crower Crank, Rods and valve train and would go more RPM if the heads would flow more.

"Dunning-Kruger Effect"
-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.
