whats the point of a shorty dragster?
Another advantage or something to think about is durability. The shorter (Stiffer) chassis will last longer simply because it does not flex as much.
Plus the things already mentioned shorter, easier to load and maneuver around, fits in most garages and trailers better leaving more room for other stuff.

As for weight, 3 ft of tubing x 4 = 12 ft total for 4 frame rails, 1 sheet less of aluminum for the body = 20 lbs @ .040. Battery cable to the front is 3 ft shorter too. I will say they are near 30 lbs lighter. JMO !
