First, my car is always on the lift after a race weekend and I religiously look over the underneath to include tires.
Here’s my GY D2991 25” front tires that are 4 yrs old, 570 1/8 mile runs @ 113 mph, no wheelies, no excessive braking ever. They always leaked some. Must have been the over 60k miles towing in the trailer that worn these out. Never again GY fronts. Thankfully I lost the round that the steering felt different, and the tire didn’t fail completely. Trying new 25” MT arriving tomorrow. Never had MT fronts and hope they hold air better than the MT rears I’ve had.

That’s pretty wild. Glad it didn’t become a big problem!
I’ve been running Moroso DS-2 fronts for a long, long time. I was never happy with the tire life from the Goodyear or Hoosier fronts.

It's weird that you can see the cords down in the groove right of center. Were these balanced?

That's exactly what I thought.... I wouldn't let my kid make a tree swing with a Goodyear tire.

If you got four years and 570 runs out of them, you did good.I never had any longevity from a Hoosier or Goodyear front runner.

I have 309 passes on my Hoosier fronts and they look barely used. Weight probably plays a roll in it though and I'm really light.

I have to replace the MT 26" front runners after 3 full seasons usually. S10, front was aligned, lots of wheelies, and lots of finish line braking.

Yes, 3845-4020 pounds probably has a lot do to with it.

I only run the old school Moroso front tires. 7.10-15 I tried a pair of new fangled front runners once, for about 2 months before they were shredded. Can't remember which brand.
