Every year they do the same thing. Last year they were even off the car, no weight on them. It's ok, they don't lose air during the race day! MT's living up to their name.

Tubes took care of that annoying issue for me.

Mike, WHY? | |||

Ed, I can't remember how old these tires are. One day I will replace them. Heck, I have a set of 27" Hooiser front runners on a spare set of wheels, but then I can't open the door to get out of the car when I drive it into the trailer.... Maybe a small ramp will be added to the trailer.......

Mike, in the 2017 MT tire catalog drag tire section was this bullet… “Newly Improved for better air retention”. Last year I spoke with several racers that bought MT bias ply rear tires (32x14) midseason and they all said the same thing. They don’t leak like the previous tires did. All tires were installed without soaping. I haven’t run MT rear tires since 2012 because of this leaking air problem. But, I am going to be putting on a new set of their 32x14 (3074S) in May / June and I’m expecting them to no longer leak without tubes.

I got another set of MT 3074 last year. They hold as air as good as anything else. All that really matters is that the tires work well, hook up and win races. https://postimg.cc/gallery/np3zpruo/ "Dunning-Kruger Effect" -a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. I am used to putting air in them at the beginning of race day, no big deal to me. Didn't do any special prep when we mounted them, no soap, nodda. They work fine on the track though.

JUNK tire Mike, you know better. The Hoosier tires on both my Firebird and Dragster, parked since October are still aired up.

My MT pro bracket radials 9 x 28 have been holding air from day one 8 months they are still holding 15 pounds from when I used them last. My thing is when the company say you need to run tubes with there tire ( printed on the side wall ) and you don't and they leak ( whatever brand that might be ) and they go flat the only person to blame is the guy that doesn't run tubes. My Phoenix slicks will leak down also but with tube they hold air . Just some food for thought both my car seam to 60ft better running tubes. Getting Flats with tubes sucks ( been there done that)but that's the chance you take . Not running tubes ive plugged my slick while in the staging lanes ( I always keep a biycle tire pump in trunk of both cars just to CMA.This message has been edited. Last edited by: eric doukas,

I don't know of anyone running tubes in their front tires. I simply deal with it. Their new tires might be better, but I have a new set of Hoosier front runners I can put on there at anytime, they are my spares.

Put the Hoosier front runners on and throw that junk in the weeds. I have NEVER run tubes!

Is air real expensive over there in Joysey ??? Sure is a lot of hatred for adding air over that way. . NHRA Pro Stock..........now on a no CARB diet.

I love my Hoosier slicks but front runners, not so much. Have to add air every week (never flat) and a big change in PSI from day to night. 72 Nova "Hooptie"

Same here! My Hoosier Front runners (Skinnies) go flat in just a few days sometimes. What a pisser. I run MT 3074 on the rear and I had Goodyear front runners. When I bought last set of front runners I tried the Hoosiers. Will not do that again. https://postimg.cc/gallery/np3zpruo/ "Dunning-Kruger Effect" -a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. I've never run the Mickey fronts, but I like the Moroso DS2 better than Hoosier or Goodyear. Tony Leonard

Ive used MT front runners and never had a problem. Just bought new set of Hoosier Front runners - just showed up today...will let you know. Wanted to reduce front diameter by .5 hence my switch. Run Hoosier R Rear, both bias and Radials and both held air perfectly over the years. I always wipe them down with dawn liquid soap before mounting...smear it all over the sidewalls. Might be why and its worked so I keep doing it.... Will let you know all know on the switch to the front runners. Configuration: 3350#, 582 C.I., 60 - 1.24 1/8 - 5.53@ 126MPH 1/4 - 8.73@ 159MPH 3700#+210lb driver, FULL interior, through mufflers, 10.5 tire. 60'-1.333 (IN 4000ft DA!
