Press the off button 3 times in 5seconds. It will blink 3times indicating diagnostics. Press button once and read code. To clear code press off button twice

It shuts off at random times, regardless of runtime. Also won’t restart all the time ? Acts like it’s not getting fuel?

My onan 5500 was doing the same thing. It ended up being the Gen set control board. I bought an aftermarket one from Flight Systems and have put about 300 hours on it without it cutting off.

My 2001 Onan 7k efi still giving me fits after having it out of the trailer and checked out by an Onan certified tech with 40 yrs experience. Worked for about 4 weekends, then began running slow and belching soot...new plugs didnt help.

About to order the board from Flight Systems, as well.

Rich has spoiled everyone giving answers on these problems so quickly in the past. Hopefully he will come along soon.

My thoughts exactly. Rich / SCDIV1 has been our Gen Set guru on here for many years. Wink

Our generator has a CO2 sensor and doesn't like to be inside a cabinet, so we made a "slide out" and no more problems.

I guess you could engineer a fan into the cabinet, but don't try and take air from inside the trailer, as it also lets out a lot of noise!

10-4. So oil pressure opens the circuit to ground. ( Hope I’m saying that right) . That’s what I needed to know . Thanks .
