Lebanon valley dragway and that's what happens when you screw a tire to the rim tire that is specifically designed for, intended to be used ONLY with bead locks as stated on the tire, we've seen this before.

This is not the first time this has happened. Where MT makes its mistake is it says on the tire "Beadlocks recommended" It really should say "Beadlocks required"

But everyone knows, especially with a TD like in this picture, if you are running Bubbas or any tire for that matter in TD, you need to run Beadlocks

If I remember right MT says Beadlocks Recommended but NHRA requires them over 200 MPH?
That right there is the reason if they go fast enough they grow and can pull off the bead then you got a real problem. He was lucky it happened at the starting line and not finish line.

"Dunning-Kruger Effect"
-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

The rule is for above 210 (or quicker than 6.50), but they don't have to be beadlocks. However, if you don't run beadlocks, you are required to have an inner liner. Slower than those numbers, and you just need wheels with that meet SFI 15.1.

Speaking of liners....what's the rule on drilling a hole in the wheel for the second valve stem? Badyear actually had a clean deal with the inner and outer air through one valve stem. That was 20yrs ago. Also I was thinking that the Hoosier liner dog bone pattern was specifically made for certain wheels. We ran (heavy) liners on greasy tracks to help with wheel speed. Also before the Grid!

I've never run one, but I'd have to imagine that if you drilled the hole yourself, it would invalidate the SFI certification. That's purely a guess, though.

The rim screws worked perfect. He didn't lose a one. They hung on to the wheel tight...Well the tire is a different story...

Yea...I’m guilty of this. I run the 33x10.5x15 in a 15x14 with screws. Seeing pictures of it in a burnout is scary. We went .941 to the 60’ and 164mph to the 1/8 a few weeks ago. I think it’s time...lol

I know there are MT tires that they say don't require beadlocks. I would run them anyway.
