Just got done aligning the truck and I'm a bit shocked by the amount of caster the TRZ A-arms provided. I didn't try for these numbers, it just happened and quite honestly, to get rid of some will be a major pain in the azz. Is 11-12 degrees too much for a drag only car ??? | ||

I think you will like it. A little harder to steer in the pits maybe but who cares. The old rule of thumb was: "add enough caster to make the driver feel comfortable" | |||

It won't be like steering a unicycle. It's perfect (positive), you can let go of the steering wheel. | |||

Just don't back up too fast! I had Sox's hemi colt back in the day and had the caster set to 20 positive. After I sold the car to a friend he had it aligned to 2 positive and it was undrivable. Since most tracks are crowned a bit in the right lane it will go dead straight, it the left it go to the left a bit so no texting or facebook. | |||

I purposely built 10 degrees positive caster into my front suspension. I love it. As mentioned its hard to turn and fights you. It wants to go straight all the time. Perfect for a drag only car. | |||

Just don't back up too fast. It'll let you know when that is. Meanwhile keep your thumbs out of the steering wheel when doing so. | |||

Till we had it fixed our old front motor dragster had so much that when you backed up too fast the wheels would flop over and someone had to come out and straighten them up. Looking back on it now it was pretty funny. Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right. Here I am....... | |||

Ive never seen an a-arm suspension with that much caster, even with TRZ a-arms. Pretty sure most of their cars a-arms are designed for 4 to 8 degrees. | ||

If 10 is good for a Pro Stocker, how can 1 or 2 degrees plus positive, hurt a less stable drag car, on springs? My thinking | |||

That's how I read it. Me too BUT, S10 pickup trucks are serious business these days, same as net arguments / disagreements. Probably is beneficial though, with the high center of gravity. | |||

Thanks for the replies guys …………. The numbers just seemed a bit excessive that why I asked. I'll give it a shot and see what it acts like. The Firebird has Smith arms on it and the caster is right about 5-6 degrees, that's kinda what I was expecting. I was always under the assumption more is better but to what point lol Things going on the scales soon, that should be interesting | |||

I got 7-8 out of an old set of street BMR tubular arms. It is the more the merrier, you'll see. You'll want more in the Bird, or prefer dragging the S-10. | |||

my a arm car had 8 degrees and it drove straight as a string. the steering was a little heavy but it would go straight every time | |||
