muggs2.5 lb co2 bottle question
I have a 2.5 lb co2 bottle for dedenbear shifter on Mustang. I am not having easy time getting into 2nd gear (C4 trans). I am going to try the air shifter next time out. There is 1,000 psi on high side gauge and 75 on low side. Anyone have idea of how many passes (shifts) this will provide? I need at least 10 to find out how fast car actually is.

Stephensx04When I ran C02 on my car. I only used a 10oz bottle. With SLE i could go 2 seasons on a tank. (no leaks) Now switched to on board air compressor and never looked back.

markemark75# to the shift solenoid is on the low side imho. 90-100# is better. Mine …100#.
A 10oz bottle will shift my car (1 shift per run) about 400 times. Where you mount the shift solenoid in relation to the shift air cylinder will determine how much air is needed to complete a shift. When you turn off the source of air (air or CO2) the low pressure gauge should maintain the shift pressure setting for several days if you have no leaks. Mine will do over a week. A very small leak will deplete a 10 oz bottle fairly quickly.

183NWe go multiple seasons on our 2.5# bottles. I have a digital fish scale and weigh them every now and again. Have the empty weight written on the bottle for reference.
I had an 80# regulator and didn’t feel like the SLE was snapping wide open hard enough. I’m at 100 or even 125# now. I didn’t notice it shifting lazy but I’d still say go for 100#+
