Anyone put a moser thru bolt center in strange dragster housing? Seems to be hitting caps ring gear side possibly? Maybe that's why most i see have strange nodular case in them.

Gotta grind the hell out of the inside of the housing to make room for the main cap bolts i think its on the drivers side if i'm not mistaken. Had to do this on both miller cars one has an aluminum section the other a steel, pretty sure both hit, both centers are moser, but also pretty sure i've swapped the thru bolt into both cars at some point in the past, i just whittle away with the die grinder till i get enough clearance, gotta be careful to not get too greedy you can go through the housing. could also trim the ends of the bolts as i'm pretty sure this is what's hitting.

Not directly ON topic, but I was just told a 9.5" gear was a direct replacement and would fit into my MOSER housing no problem. I'm gonna give it a go.

DRR / Crew, I'd like to hear the feedback on what you find there. A friend of mine stepped up to the 9.5 gear a few years ago but he purchased the strange ultra case to do it. If it fits in the moser through bolt that would be good info to have. Keep us posted on what you find!

My Yancer had a 9 1/2 gearset in it when I bought it. I downsized to a 9" only because I changed ratio's and didn't think I needed the 9 1/2.
probably moot to discussion cause mine is a fabricated 9" housing. Just putting it out there to let folks know 9 to 9 1/2 gear is direct swap at far as center section.

Got my Motive Gears today. I'm pretty happy I got some old stock. 1 set is dated 2014 the other 2017. Italy made. Pre pandemic so maybe that's a plus on quality.

9.5 are rated at 33% stronger. They're also back cut lightened and have radiused gears on ring gear. Nice stuff.
