Ive got the simpson hybrid sport that works fine but it has the shoulder and waist straps that sometimes can be a pita with tangles.I also find the clips on the helmet i stuggle to connect myself and often have to ask for help.
Is there another safe but maybe easier device to use solo? I dont have many freinds anymore.Using it in top dragster

I switched from that to a NecksGen Rev 2. I hated the original Necksgen but the new one has adjustable tether is very easy and comfortable

Necksgen makes a rally pad that is easy to put on by yourself. It clips under each arm and across you chest.

Another vote for Necksgen Rev. Simple. It rides to the lanes clipped to my helmet on one side. When I get in the car I unclip it and put it around my neck before the belts. Nothing to put on and wear beforehand.

go see Jeff Kundratic at the Divisionals for a custom fit as Kyle did.

I prefer the Hans, but i never have to unstrap it from the helmet, just slide it over my head. I know everyone can't do that but I can.

I'm with Ken, HANS.

I don't put it on until AFTER I'm belted in (loosely). When the line starts moving I just lean forward, put it around my neck, put on my helmet, strap it on, slide my belts over the HANS (since they are loose), connect the tethers to the helmet, cinch down my belts, DONE.
Takes maybe 30 seconds, 15 seconds if I have help.

Or do as Ed said and go see Jeff, he has several to choose from and can recert them also.

Jeff can change tether lengths, straps, etc. He set up Kyle's helmets(3) too.

Necksgen2 for me. My son uses a Hans. I prefer the Necksgen.

When i started, i bought one of each from summit and Jegs , tried them all on and ended up keeping the Simpson hybrid, sent the rest back…

I tried several ones and Neckgen was the easiest to use for me. Now I could see where the ones that go down further on your chest and back "May" protect better or give more support but the original question here is what is EASIEST neck restraint system and for me that one is Neckgen.

When I talked to Necksgen, I had asked them about the video that was floating around youtube and has since been removed. It showed the dummy's head moving forward and chin touching the chest, where the HANS didn't. The design of the HANS limits movement more than the Necksgen, but they both do the same thing to the same standard, which is to prevent the neck from "stretching" on impact, which is what causes the basal skull fracture, and internal decapitation. Both limit the forward movement of the head enough to stop this from happening. Both are required to meet, and both do meet the testing standard for SFI.

I got the Necksgen and love it. I think it's super easy to use and isn't in the way as much as others. The Simpson is really good, but I don't like the idea of having to deal with all the straps and such, but that's just me. I did try on a HANS, and they just felt uncomfortable to me. Sitting in my car it actually pushes my head forward and I don't care for that. I also couldn't turn my head as far as I can with the Necksgen. I never tried the Simpson restraint.

The thing with the Hans device is that they are not one and done.
You need the proper one and should try several.

They have size X-Small all the way to double X-Large.
Then you need the correct degree angle for your vehicle, this is the angle that the rear bill is at, 10 degrees to 30 degrees.
Also you may need the sliding tethers.

Mine is an X-Large 30 degree angle with sliding tethers.
Like I said, I put my Hans on in the car in less than 40 seconds if I take my time.

The problem could be as Mark had, many people try one and don't like it because it pushes their head forward, that's the wrong Hans, you need a different degree angle.

The reason I like the Hans is that it limits your head from going back and forth (no chin touching your chest) or your head not getting snapped back (due to the rear bill) BUT you can turn your head left to right easily (sliding tethers).

The main thing is whatever works for you.

It seems that most of my friends use the Simpson Hybrid.

My kids both used the Necksgen Rev2 Lite in juniors. They've both aged out, so I've debated trying one.

I like to look around, so I'll probably stick with the ol' foam collar.

The only thing the foam collar is for is limited fire protection. It does absolutely nothing to protect your neck in a wreck. I personally think a HANS device of some sort should be mandatory in all cars except for maybe street cars....but that's just me

The funny thing is that if you don't wear a head sock or have a helmet skirt you are supposed to wear a small neck collar for that very reason.
