Woodfin's Colorado project, looking for deign suggestions
For those of you with an open mind and an eye for design, I am considering removing the cab top, thus, a Colorado roadster.

If some of you can photoshop or other options, show me how it would look. In addition, choices about the roll cage bars. [that is to say, how would the bars come forward off the main hoop?]

I intend to have the doors in place and operational. Also, it must give accessible entrance and exit. Remember, I am old and stiff.

I have a friend with a square body S-10, setup exactly like you want to setup your Colorado. The truck works great and you can see everything. The doors work, no top, truck/roadster. I'll post some pictures when I get them.

I found some pics of a roadster S-10, and I do not like the look. It is not as my mind pictured. Never mind about this mod and post

If anything Larry, I would put in a Sunroof. Keep the roll down windows and can reach up and open the sunroof to let warm air escape out of the cab.

DON'T Remove the roof Larry, It will be nice, just keep the roll up windows, will make a huge difference in the summer in Texas. Also a light grey interior is better than a black one. The grand kids will thank you.

I think if you cut top off you would have the disadvantages of both types and none of the advantages. Door car has full roof and windshield to block sun and keep it cooler inside. Plus you can see tree better in door car.

"Dunning-Kruger Effect"
-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

Larry when it's hot in the lanes you will see me sitting in the shade with the windows open.

A note, I was not considering the "open-air" piece of a roadster, simply the unique look and easy entry/exit.
After studying the truck cab area I realized, to be safe, it would require a funny car-style cage. Thus, defeating any easy access.

In addition, the full cab raises the center of gravity and in this performance level, that is a good thing.

I hear you. I don't want one either. I'm ok on 10.90 but not wide open. My truck is actually easier to get in than most race cars. Up and in and pull myself out. Even with an X brace in the door it's not bad.
