Bill Frederick doesn’t build Undercover cars, he builds Elite. Billy Torrence now builds Undercover cars.

That said, You can count on me verifying and if so I’ll want to know why since Bill and I have had the conversation years ago about why Undercover race cars came with DOT 5 fluid in their master cylinders and the benefits of this fluid over all others.

A few weeks back the throttle partially hung on my wifes car in the shutdown area. She got it stopped ok then shut it off. That was on a Saturday. She raced it the rest of the day and Sunday and on the ride home commented that her brake pedal was spongy the rest of the weekend. I figured it must have boiled the fluid in the caliper when she was getting it stopped. So we bled the brakes and the pedal has been good since. Wilwood 570 fluid that we flushed at the beginning of the season.

And Torrence is not in the dragster building business as of yet...not for public anyway

That’s not what he said in the interview. I’ll be speaking to him in person about it this week.

Mike, I like that idea. Maybe even a simple little deflector that would direct some additional airflow to the rotors.

Great idea, but.....even with air forced over the brakes, heat transfer takes some time. A 200 mph run will cover the shutdown area in pretty short time. Very little heat transfer can happen in that few of seconds. They work very well in road race cars because you aren't trying to shed the heat you are creating now. You are getting rid of the heat from that last brake exercise.

I do not know of anyone who ducts cool air to the brakes but it should not hurt anything.
With beadlocks it is probably a relatively "Dead Air" space around the brakes. Venting some air in there would probably help.

Want to know something interesting, every Cup car, Indy Car and F1 car use 5.1

Must be true because I read it on an internet message board posted by a nobody that does not race or wrench on one no mind every Cup car, Indy Car and F1 car.

That said, I don’t care what brake fluid they use, I use the same brake fluid that my professional drag race chassis builders installed from day one in my cars same fluid that comes in every COPO Camaro too.

I’m pretty sure Ed said 5.1 like a 1000 times
