I'm only interested in reducing under hood temps, not for any horsepower considerations, so what would be the best choice to that end? Ceramic coating is much more expensive than the sleeves. I can get a 2" diameter sleeve (1200 degrees) from Design Engineering that will slip on to individual primary tubes in any length I want (probably 24" - 30") that would cover most of the header tubes and I'm guessing it would be a significant reduction in under hood heat. Ceramic coat is $500 and sleeves are $250. What would you recommend?

the cermaic coating will make your expensive hesders last much longer.the sleeve may reduce heat better. honesty is the best policy, insanity is a better deffense 1.036, 6.16@ 224

I wrapped mine, raced the last two seasons. Took them off this Fall and there was quite a bit of surface rust. Had them cleaned up and this time they get the ceramic coating. They are close to the hood so I am going to use a couple 12"x12" DEI Heat Shield pads glued tp the underside of the hood.

I designed my own headers the last time. I ran them a couple of times before getting them ceramic coated. The difference is between night and day. Uncoated the under hood temps were unbelievable. After they were coated, things were much better. nomad Bruce Guertin Easily distracted by bright shiny objects. Wife says I'm a new adventure every day. Another vote for ceramic coating BUT the wrap would probably do a better job of reducing the temperature. The problem is that the wrap will create rust. Bob
