Is there a truly American made aluminum floor jack? I'm not counting the one pump NASCAR jacks, we don't need those in our bracket/sportsman racing world. If so what is the price point?

Everyone knows the Summit,Jegs and Pittsburg Aluminum jacks are made in China but I would guess that 75% or more of the Aluminum jacks in the pits are one of those 3.

Mike Reitow I have the JEGS Aluminum jack and have had no problems yet. I do (well wife does) put stands under car and lower it after jacking on to the stands. My wife is 18 years younger than me so she gets the stands and jack out and full fuel jugs etc. The Alum.jack is just flat out lighter and way eaiser for her to carry. If I had to do every thing myself to go racing I would be **** outta luck.

1320Racer. Those sure are the the Cadillac of the Alum. jacks as I have seen those at a circle track racer acquaintance of mine shop. I think he has 3 of those things sittin around and they make my jack look like crude zip eye junk. Oh well the wife has not seen what the real ones look like yet so for now shes satisfied with her JEGie jack as she calls it. Smile

It's not good news out there for makers of Jacks and Jack stands. Even Torin who Mac Tools sold their jacks years ago has even went to China.

The only ones I have found so far that are not Chinese are Zinko which are made in japan and US Jack which are made in Taiwan.

US Jack is a big supplier to the GSA. They are also sold through Snap-On.

How does the wide front roller do in the grass? The jacks I've had in the past with that style roller were horrible on anything other than a smooth surface. I currently have a Pittsburg 3 ton aluminum jack that still works well. When it dies and it will eventually, I would not hesitate to spend the extra coin on a USA made jack.

no floor jack rolls well in the grass and dirt. I'm also not a fan of jacking up a car in the grass so I place the jack on a piece of plywood to spread the load. The plywood is cut so that it fits between the dragster slicks too.

I have a 10x30' pit mat that I put down if we are pitted in grass or gravel. Using a piece of plywood under the jack is not a bad idea if the ground is soft.

I have a Pit mat and do the same thing. I have a piece of plywood cut for the jack and one cut for the jack stands to sit on

If you keep your eyes out you probably could find an old Hein Werner jack and have it rebuilt.

I got an old HW from my FIL. Best jack I have owned.
I don't own any jacks that will fit under the front of the dragster with tires on the ground though.

It would be nice to have a jack in the trailer that doesn't weigh a ton but can jack up a trailer axle if needed.

Cash, I tried for weeks to find a kit for mine. It’s old but great! Still have it if I could find a kit.

With Biden snuggling in with China - quality and workmanship $lides backwards. Now that Mr. T was not impeached ...again .... who knows what’s next...

Mike, I bought one of the Daytona low boys a while back and I’m happy with it so far HMMMM

1320racer Im with you on jacking up a car in the grass. I am not a fan either. 20 years ago it didnt bother me now I avoid it. Havent got to it yet but plan to get a 1/4" 6061-t6 alumn. sheet about 18" wide x 48" long position under where I want jack so it will roll and NOT sink in to the ground. The alumn. plate should weight under 22 lbs. and be pretty easy to handle. At least Ill feel better about in the grass pain in the ass etc. Also 14"x 14" 11 guage (.120) squares tig welded to the bottom of jack stands so they do not sink also. Should add abot 6 lbs. each to stand. Would love to have a set of pro jacks but geesh for $2200.00 that would be money better spent on entrys.
