Why would it blow condensation out the breather? Can has very little in it

Hot air condensing. If it's dripping off the breather, wrap a wrist band around the breather.

If you have a leak on the engine or lots of blowby it can allow air to move too fast through the tank also, causing this.

You have a vacuum leak. Possibly around distributor, valve cover gaskets or someplace else.

If the motor is sealed good it creates a vacuum but does not move much volume of air through the motor. When you have a leak large volume of air goes through motor and blows oil with it filling your canister quickly.

How is a vacuum leak going to produce warm/hot moist air coming out of the motor? And all motors have blow by,,, which is the source of the moisture. In addition an number of ring packages rely on cylinder pressure to seal so at idle more blow by can occur.

Unless there is a water leak internally in the motor, during startup/warm up, especially in cool weather, it's normal to see some condensation coming out of the breather. Once the oil warms up enough, it stops. The amount of condensation that comes out can vary depending on a number of factors. If the motor is running good and your not losing water, don't worry about, the vacuum pump is doing it's job!

After seeing 80% of the tanks with underwear wrapped around the breathers I decided to build a better tank. I came up with a two chamber deal and it works well. Water out the bottom and vapor out the top, without blowing stuff all over the place.

That works but over engineered, you can get a press in baffle deal that does the job that goes just below the filter on top. If you are running alky, a small tank will struggle even with the baffles, need a larger tank.

The other issue can be the location of the suction line that's usually located in the valve cover. Make sure it's located in an area that has the least amount of oil splashing around and is internally baffled. Some oil that gets sucked in through the vac pump to the puke tank is a good thing, the pump needs some lubrication but you shouldn't have to empty the puke tank often if the suction line is properly located and baffled!

I have heard good things about them. It would be nice though if he would put them in a case that didn't look like you found it in the local salvage yard.

Of course it does because it’s junk, an oem design, driven by cost that has been repurposed.

Meanwhile the Who’s who of sportsman engine builders, every professional, nationally known bracket/class engine builder uses Moroso vacuum pumps, designed and engineered for racing, nuff said.

Star has a good rep though not popular with the engine builders due to uptick in cost and packaging. I also don’t like the colors.

My GZ Motorsports pump is maybe 9 years old and pull 15 or more inches of vacuum. Never rebuilt it and maybe once a year I start it up and run some cleaner through it.

I agree they may not be the prettiest out there but do not tell me they do not work good. You would be talking out your tooter about something you know nothing about.
