Driveshaft options
Who's the go to for a good quality piece and what's the opinion on what material to use behind 1100hp? Thanks

Mark Williams, Strange.

PST is local here, they did some work on mine 3-4 years ago, worked out great.

High speed balancing..... Mark Williams I believe has this capability as well as some others. From a metallurgical standpoint welding aluminum in a high shock area isn't the best idea but many many live long lives. MW accu bond is slick as ice.....I haven't found anyone else that utilizes that process....not saying they don't but it eliminates the brittle area made by welding aluminum.
I would think if you have the coin CF for light setup. Heavier car alum or moly. If they get really long is when problems start.....probably all of the above will work with yours. Resonance is a *****.

Mark Williams has a chart on their website relating to drive shaft lengths materials and diameters and the critical speeds (rpm) of each.

What is the opinion of those on the forum of carbon fiber driveshafts? Anyone run them? Any problems?

My opinion is it’s not needed, there’s no performance advantage and therefore not worth the additional $ in our cars.

I would agree in a high majority of cases. If you have a long driveshaft and high rpms the higher resonance frequency may eliminate vibration issues but there isn't any measurable performance gain. If I could I would have a MMC METAL MATRIX COMPOSITE driveshaft however MW no longer makes these. Unfortunately.

Had a near 60” MMC driveshaft built by Denny’s in my Chevelle and it’s still in service after over 5000 wheels up passes.
