A customer at my work advised me to remove the airbags from the Sunfire because they could be recalled. I told him I would asap. Just too funny, it made my day.

Agreed, but I’d select the 8261 coil and replace the old style 7230 ignition with the improved 7330 also.

All of these components are new yet a few years old as I have collected them over time. Hopefully they will perform well enough for me to familiarize myself with the car and to be competitive. Who knows moving forward what's in store for this Little Chief.

To each, if you were to have to opportunity for Monte [Little Chief]to work on your car or build you something, take it.

His talent for fab work and eye for detail are top-shelf.

And the Sunfire, without question, will fly. I will personally see to it.

If everything works out this weekend we will give Little Chief the once over and get ready for the following weekend. Plan on making initial hits at Xtreme Motorsports just outside Dallas. Man this has been a long time coming. Really pumped. Smile

Well that didn't work out. We will attempt a test outing on the 15th at XMP. Sometimes life just gets in the way.

Absolutely beautiful. There is a lot going on in that corner with the electronics. MSD 8830 and shorten up that coil wire would come to mind.
Bizarre problem i had was during actual crank mode. Electronic shift solenoid would pulse back and forth due to an RF issue. Called MSD after a
month. Told me sounds like an RF issue. Sure enough, the 8830 stopped dead in it's track.
Low rider lol. Looks like a TS car. Perfect...

Beautiful Car. Looking at what appears to be an obsolete 7230 ignition and all those additional chip boxes and ask why ??

Because it works. Both cars we took to the SFG million had old gold boxes and are just as consistent as the new stuff.

I was there Denis. Anna-Lisa did an Great job of driving through a field of over 700 entries. Congrats to both of you.

In my initial post I should have been more specific in my question which I now will.

You have a 7al3 box that is loaded with features. I see a remote 2 step and what looks like a RPM Activated Switch box. All these features (and more) are provided in the 7al3. Why use redundant feature remote boxes, especially in a car this nice??
