Why so small on the alcohol carburetor? At first I was confused by the big hp drop, I'd expect 10 or so with like an 1150 or 1250...

When they had the engine on the dyno that was the only carb i had, and it was off my 454 engine. Alan at SDPC told me the carb was too small and it needed a 1250 carb. So i had Ken Jones build me a 1250 carb that ended up slowing me down 2 tenths and 3 mph. I just had Mark Whitener at Lighting Racing Carbs go through the 1250 carb that Ken Jones built for me and fix all the problems with it Mad . Mark did tell me it's hard to get a 1250 alcohol carb to run faster than a 1050 carb.I have not tried Mark's carb out yet.

Ahh okay. I've seen a lot of people have success with the 1150's like I said, if you ever get the chance to try one of those. It seems like it takes a good carb guy to know how to go fast with an alky carb. Good luck with it!!
