I know this is revisiting previous discussion but I’m curious on the difference between M/T 3183 and the 3190w lil Bubbas.

Currently, we have the 3190w on my wife’s dragster and we’ve heard from multiple people that we should be running the 3183 because it will be faster and better.

It’s a 548BBC, 1.80 glide, 6700 8” Abruzzi Converter going 5.0X’s and it’s nasty since we put the looser converter in it.

Last year it was going 4.90s with a 9” converter but after freshening the motor it has been 5.0s even with the 9” and the 8” it has now.

Currently running the 3190w lil Bubbas but I’m
curious what everyone’s thought is on how much it may change or pick up switching to the 3183s for next season.

I made that exact change on my car and was not happy I did. From 3183's to Little Bubba's

My car lost MPH and was better with the 3183's

Waste of time an money.....and I had wheels beadlocked for the Bubba's

I did run the 3183's with the beadlocks so it was a direct comparison

My car ran 4.80's

You might pickup a little ET and I'd guess 1-2 MPH

I loved the 3183 on my 4.70/4.80 dragster. Did ok going 4.50/4.40s for a little.

Are you able to get the 3183?

I could be wrong, but I thought the 3183 was discontinued. Also, the 3183 and the 3190 have different compounds. The 3183 and 3191 are the same compound and the 3182 and 3190 are the same compound. But like I mentioned I don't think they are making the 3183 or 3182 anymore.

I did use the 3191's because the compound was the same as the 3183's

Tried various air pressures from upper 5's to mid 6's

The 3191's worked fine but as I said....MPH was a little slower

RPM was similar maybe a bit lower...

The only good thing about the 3191's was better static height and more ground clearance.....easier to load in my trailer...

I had 2-3 sets of 3183's and they pretty much never wore out

3183s are not discontinued but are hard to get. They are in production.
