As I am getting older (now 82) my tolerance for really hot and humid days has become more of a challenge. In the past I've used a cool vest which is soaked in water for a few minutes then air dried. As it air dries small packets of a pellet type substance sewn in the vest expands which provides a limited degree of cooling. Not perfect but better. Now I am interested in a cooling system that incorporates a hose attached to the helmet that can also cool my head. Since I have a '27 Ford Roadster there is very limited room next to the driver but I can mount a small ice packed canister in front of the battery which is in the trunk of the car. I am interested in feed back from anyone who has experience with one the these ice canister type cooling systems. I race in an area where the humidity is normally fairly low (50% - 70%) it's not unusual for the temperature to exceed 108. Any information would be appreciated. Bob

Bob, It sounds like you are looking for an active cooling system, that circulates cool water to the body. We used a similar system for land speed racing at the Bonneville Salt Flats. Here's a link to a system for your head & they also sell vest/shirts also. https://coolshirt.com/product/hothead-kit/ 2BKING 1980 Camaro Taking the Best Working Small Tire Shyt Box & making it Greater Than Before! 3000 lbs. I used this kit. Won’t race in the heat without it. As a matter of fact I will have it on tomorrow. https://coolshirt.com/product/drag-pack/ ____________________________ 2017 and 2018 Osage Casinos Tulsa Raceway Park No-Box Champion 2018 Div4 Goodguys Hammer award winner
