I recently purchased a Honda EM6500SX for home power outages (3x a yr minimum up to 8 hrs) and it uses the same engine as the EU7000is but with a carb vs FI. This is a non-inverter model which means it’s not as quiet or fuel efficient as an invertor model. Uses Honda's exclusive iAVR technology ensuring a consistent flow of power regardless of the load.

It will output a maximum of 7000w for up to 10 seconds to start high initial amp draw equipment. With a 25% load it easily starts and runs the 3/4hp 240v well pump over 100’ deep. With my Fluke set to min/max I measured a voltage drop from 120v to 105v and 60Hz to 57Hz for an instant and immediately returns to full voltage/ Hz. I’d bet it’s probably less than a 75 ms time period for this dip but would need a o-scope to measure this.

When I purchased in January this year it was $1900 less expensive than the EU7000is and was available in stock. Today the EM6500SX lists for $2500 less than the EU7000is. This generator is Made in China.

How do you know they don't? Are you saying the second guy is wrong about the Predator being make in China only?

Doesn't matter really but I was just posting some info. I believe Honda to be the standard but I have read about the serial number in other places also.

I took apart a 3000 once that had a ton of hours on it. Smoked and burned oil

I've taken apart and re-assembled a life times worth of things and that Honda was the most intense bunch of parts I ever took apart. I seriously doubt I would have been able to get it back together with a new engine as I was looking to do....

I called Mayberry Sales and asked what they do with them when they are worn out....in the trash is what I was told and that's where the one I took apart went

I've fixed a number of similar sized portable inverters. It's usually the Inverter that goes bad not the engines....

Honda's are unquestionably the highest quality, best built unit's.....pretty much across their line of products

I have an older Honda 3500 portable and a Honda lawn mower......The generator is at least 20 years old and other than carbs going bad from fuel it always works
The lawn mower is by far the best one I ever owned.....Should have bought one years ago.....Makes doing my little yard a heck of a lot easier....Smart Drive.....about as user friendly as it could be....
