Usually rock auto has the best price but my last order of filters came from amazon prime. I think the price was the same, came the next day and I didn’t have to remember my rock auto login.
Rock auto definitely best price on ngk spark plugs.

Correct, Rich. Does Napa actually sell a "racing" version of their house-branded Wix filters? I have used the 1794, never asked for a 1794R. And good advice, Larry. I normally use the huge 1.5 Qt Wix 51794R on my BBC's. Might be closer to 10" tall, (I had to use a rubber mallet and make a slight recess in the kickout on my 7 Qt Milodon pan to get that filter in & out). Requires a strap type filter wrench. With lighter weight synthetic racing oils and hot weather, I have been experimenting this summer, using the straight 51794 or the Napa Gold 1794 (both are the non-racing versions). Like Mark pointed out above, you get finer filtration than the "R" version. But with a smaller 51061 I would probably be concerned about flow restriction of the tighter filter media at high RPM, especially with a heavy (20/50) oil. No worries about oil flow with the big dog 1794/51794 filters. I will be looking closely at the bearings during the off season freshen up. If all looks good I will stay with the big non-racing version. They are all extremely well built, in the USA.
