feedback from users of 13-degree SBC heads
Racers,

I want feedback about your experience with a 13-degree SBC head. The market offers several options; I am looking at the Brodix or Profiler 13-degree CNC and am open to other options.

Questions: How do they run down the track? Do they perform well on methanol with a dominator carb? Do they have a wide enough power band that recovers well with the Powerglide shift? I am expecting an operating range of about 6,200-7,800 RPM. The converter and gearing will be proper for the engine's power band.

It will be a 2800-pound package with a driver. The expected performance is 5.70's 1/8 mile.

Both heads are great. However I'm biased towards the ProFiler because the CNC head they sell is my port program. They make great power. Chris Cobb built a 437 with them that made 1035hp on his and BES's dyno with single carb. The only way you can get it now is in CNC or a porters casting. I done a set of them for Jim White and his 421 with a Edelbrock 2858. It made 850hp at Pattersons in bracket mode and runs 5.50s in the Kansas weather at 2900lbs in a Cobalt.

I probably have 35 sets out there in both drag and circle track.
