Holley fuel pump ?
Holley fuel pump ?

I have a Holley Blue pump that is used for my primer plus system and is running to a regulator that is set to 7.5 lbs. It’s leaking out the vent hole 1 drop of fuel every 10 seconds.

Here’s my question. Where is this pump leaking internally that makes fuel come out the vent hole?

Shaft seal would be a start.

Shaft seal , You should be able to find a rebuild kit.

I don’t believe you can replace shaft seal in a Holley blue pump. Could be wrong but couldn’t in the past. Seal is put in first then bushing.

This makes sense because that part is not offered in the repair kit.

IMHO I would just replace it with the little Facet pump. They have been great for me.

I destroyed one just to get it apart and see what was what. I got several laying around that leak just like yours that I just use for pumping out of drum and such.

You can't buy the base anymore? I know we use to replace the base more for the bypass seat, but the issue you are having it would fix that also..

I replaced this 7 yr old blue pump with a red pump last night only because it fit the mounting and plumbing of the rear 3 gal cell. The red pump puts out 7 psi which is close to what the regulator was set to with the blue and should work the same.

Thanks for all the help.

Just curious. Is the Red serviceable?

Same as blue pump for replaceable parts that I viewed. If it leaks out the vent hole it’s a throw away. It was less expensive than blue pump that comes with a regulator.
