Shoot the light **Season end Update**
I think I would really like this but I go no box also with box most every race I go to and use a long throw with no box. I can pretty seamlessly go back and forth with similar light on a given day. I am afraid the different motions might screw me up. Right now its basically the same.

But i think this trigger motion is intriguing. As someone else said too....you have trained your mind for years if you shoot a gun to pull trigger slow. Now your yanking one - can just see that being my excuse next hunting season. LOL.

LOL, I don't hunt, and I always have 7-14 more pulls on the trigger, whereas I only get one on the starting line.

It is really not any quicker than my standard button, maaaaaybe .005, but it tightened my spread, using the same delay settings I've always used, I rarely roll any numbers.

I had always set up to be .008, so my event average R/T's are right in line.

Side note....the Mega-200 will randomly throw an extra .001 delay in the mix, so one of those .001's would have been a .000

100% it was about the mental gymnastics I had going on while staged, needed to eliminate the bad thoughts and distractions.
My old let go was pretty good when it was mindless.

Season end ruminations regarding the STL gadget.

Still pleased very much with the overall results.

It has mechanically tightened the R/T spread, and relieved most of my mental distractions. I'm going to refine my technique with some practice tree time over the winter.

Did not race very much at all, just points at IRP. 1 win and 5th overall for the season, 5 round wins back from the #1 spot clear.
Had a couple of unfortunate mechanical failures deep in the rounds, while qualified for the bye to the final on the ladder.

Went .001, .003, .001 one day, and didn't even consider rolling any numbers.
Next round twisted the driver side axle tube in the housing, so I'll never know how that streak would have ended.

So overall, I still recommend trying one, if you,re going to make a change.

Goob,

Thanks for the update on the "STL gadget", did someone call it a gadget? I'm glad you like it & it's working for you.

I call my transbrake experiment a mechanical gadget. The concept/design was interesting, but execution felt too mechanical; mainly when depressing the button!

The Overthrow button has been thrown on the self & collecting dust. Maybe someday I'll mount it in a different position & give it another try.

I raced a borrowed car in July & had very good results with it. The Terminator button was mounted horizontally off the dash & released to the rear. While I have never used this mount position before, I felt comfortable with it.

Anyway, I decided to buy & mount the Overthrow button in my car in the same fashion above. I practiced with it in the car to get the feel & it was just different. While it has some neat & unique features like the spring, shaft bearing & magnets. When I used it, time runs & eliminations. It did slow the RT, but my RT variance was not acceptable. It could be the mounting position & I plan to try it in my normal position.

I tried the Overthrow at the Bracket Finals. Probably the worst place to be testing something new. Needless to say, with about 10 track hits with it. I knew it wasn't going to work. I had 1st & 2nd elimination rounds on it; 3rd round I switched to my well-adjusted/massaged Terminator button. Baaaam....my reactions/variance went back to where they should have been, won plenty of rounds & even got into the money.

I will revisit the Overthrow button in the future mounted like or close to how my Terminator is mounted.
