Anyone figured out how to fix the backlight on the racepak udx dash. Mine has gone out again and not really wanting to wait 2 to 3 weeks to get it sent off and back.

I have had a few. That item has been mostly trouble free except for this stupid flaw.

How are you guys mounting your dashes? Would adding rubber vibration mounts help?

Not sure. Mine is mounted in the dash solid, might be worth a try. I would like to see the bulbs to tell if they are burned out or damaged.

Wow! That stinks. Mine is the RPM digital dash and have not had or heard of any problems with them. Yet they are similar so makes me wonder. Regardless when it fails you are in trouble and may not have 3 weeks to wait to get it repaired. That is not good.

I have seen a few go out but all I have seen were in dragsters. I have been running one in a door car since 2011 and not had any issues yuet. Wonder if vibrations and or UV light has an affect here?

Being an LCD display wouldn't the back light be an LED? If so it is possibly a solder issue from vibration? We have used thousands of LEDs in our products and they rarely have any problems.

I took mine apart to investigate today and it doesn't have any LED lights rather an LED sheet that is attached to the circuit board with 6 small screws. Also a small copper piece on one side from 1 screw to another that I believe transfers 12v from the bottom to the top of the sheet. If someone wants to post pictures I can send them to you just not sure how to post them on here now.

Any chance of testing the led sheet to see if it is still working? Maybe it is the connection causing the problem?

Don i sent them. Thanks

Bucky that is my next step. I did stick it back in the car to make sure everything else was still working after i tore it apart and stuck it back together and some reason the outer edge of the light worked half around now so i am thinking a contact issue cause i had nothing at all before.
