AlaskaracerNever ran one, never felt the need to. For me, it's all about routine. I prefer to be in control of my throttle 100% of the time. And it's one less thing to have to deal with and adjust. Forget to turn on air one time.....

fatpackI've had one for several years, K&R Pro Cube and Pro Stage. When to mat the loud pedal is one less thing I have to think about.

Not only that, but for consistency, being on the 2 step the exact same amount of time. Read an article many years ago about a comp team that had varying 60 fts, they claimed it was because of cylinder head cooling due to the varying length of time being on the 2 step. Don't know if it was true or not.

GoobIt's one thing on my list to "upgrade" my ride.
On the rare occasion that I can cross over on a slower car, it will be a great help.
The amount of time on the 2-step does affect the RT and ET for me.

It's happened to others, particularly injected as well. Cylinder temps drop creating erratic HP at the hit.

We've been having issues more than usual this year on the 2-step with it affecting RT, 60' & ET. It has something to do with our new EFI system/tune that was new for this year. We did transfer the tune from the old EFI system, but was told by the experts it was going to be the same.
The old system was pretty good with not affecting the 3 things I mentioned. This new system we've made progress with quicker 60's but still lacking consistency with the RT, 60' & ET.
I'm not totally blaming the EFI/tune. I discovered my water/methanol injection is affecting the issue also. I found this out by forgetting to install the expansion plug on the tank, the system doesn't work without the plug. I discovered this on the Thurs. at the 30K race during the Million. My 60's picked up & I had 2 -.003 RTs, one in the 1st round & one in the buyback round.
I think we have a fix for the water/meth on the 2-step. We plan on deactivating it on the 2-step & turning it on at around 6 lbs. of boost. While this isn't going to totally solve the issue, it's a step in the right direction.
I've tried an SLE but didn't feel comfortable not being in control. I might have to re-look at trying it again.

moparacerBeen using SLE for years. Wouldn't top bulb without it. Take your lumps and get used to it. You will be better in the long run.

CURTIS REEDWe had one in the dragster that I made my first ever passes down a drag strip. They can make it so easy anyone can do it. I made 3 passes in that car at a tnt. The next month we were at a 2 day race and my buddy said I should run the gambler's race on Friday night. I got runner up in my first ever race. -.013 red in the finals.
Without the SLE I am certain I wouldn't have been able to hit the tree like I did because I would have been thinking too much. I would have been thinking about letting go then hitting the throttle.
