I've finally ran out of some really good thick 9" gaskets I bought a pack of 25 years ago....I can not find thick ones anywhere...they're all ****ty paper thin like around .020-.025 thick...the ones I had were .050 thick.....What are you guys using for a decent quality piece now??

Tried a Phord dealer? The gasket is supposed to end up a specific thickness, (like .031"?) when crushed, so the axles are perfectly aligned with the center section, when installed.

Strange shows #H1111S, which is a steel core, rubber-coated, .045 thick, reusable. I have not tried that gasket; however, it looks like a good idea. Much better than the half-tube of sealer and resulting cleanup.

I will never use anything but a LubeLocker ever again
Aluminum core gasket with an outer silicone coating that’s 0.045 thick overall and compresses to 0.025 . Priced right and I would try if purchasing.

Like Larry Woodfin, I am 84 and still learning. I have never used a gasket only silicone gasket in a tube. Never had any leaks but the alignment with the axels concerns me. SO, since I am as I type this getting ready to insert my Strange center section with new ring & pinion into my car I will get a gasket as it sounds like solid information to me. In all these years and all these rears I never gave it a thought. Today I learned something new.
