By the way, it always surprises me how bad rust and dirt show up in photos. In reality, it is not that bad. The floor is sound, just surface rust. In a perfect world it would be blasted or soaked in a tank, but we do not build 53 StuFins in a perfect world! [just my car port:}

Tim MitchellI love this build! I think this might be top of the list of cars you've built,for me anyway. Looking forward to the completion of this one.

Larry WoodfinTim, I am more enthused about the StuFin than any project in the last several years. I am always looking for something different, soming unique and this project for sure fills the bill. Plus, there are basically no parts intended for this style of build. It is challenging me and that is a good thing. The one thing I am fretting about is the paint job. A good looking, two-foot race paint job, is simply too much money to spend on a toy. So, I will leave the exterior for later addressing and work on the mechanical systems.

steelyCurious why did you choose the distributor drive over the Daytona speed
December 19, 2022, 11:50 PM
Larry WoodfinSteely, I did consider the Daytona Sensors systems. After a time of pondering the options, I decided the distributor suited my old man and old car. I will be using a Daytona Sensors distributor.

FootbrakeJimThank you for sharing the progress, Larry.
Keep up the great work! This 60* weather is much more compatible with working on projects than the single digits we had exactly 1 week ago.

Larry WoodfinFoot, you are correct about the warmer days being better working conditions. Steady progress is happening with the StuFin. I jump around with work tasks. The last three days have been working on mounting the main hoop, building outrigger supports to the frame, and massaging the floor to clear. The 350 transmission is mostly finished. The LS engine has the crank and cam installed and one set of rings gapped. I expect Monte [Little Chief here] will come either Saturday or Sunday for wheel tub and floor work. The way it is shaping up I think three months will some very good progress.

Good to hear the steady progress with the StuFin!
I wish I could say the same about the B-Car, in a holding pattern with the holidays; plus, getting material & parts.

Curly1Several things I like about this. 1. It is different, not another like it. 2. You are building it yourself with your own ideas, you own sweat, blood and possibly even choice words.
