AlkyIROCWell on an open wheel vehicle or tube chassis car, a 17 would be better. On a production door car, depends on how much fender room you have. I run a 28" tall tire on a 15" rim and the tire rubs the inner fender on sharp pit stall turns.

CURTIS REEDI think on newer cars the 17" wheel helps clear the calipers.
