My high end powerglide with all the best parts decided to go on strike after 3 passes.Stuff happens and im not here to trash the trans builder who has actually been very good to me for numerous years, but this time 3 passes new i had no high gear and the fluid was just roasted.I checked for user error but everything was dead nuts..shifter linkage etc..etc.
Problem now is i had 2 huge races coming up with sponsors, freinds and my girls freinds and family coming.
I called the builder and he said he had a waiting list of over 3 weeks and all the big shaft stuff is on back order and they couldnt really perform any miracles for me.Ok i get it and i had to respect what they where telling me.

So i start calling every race transmission shop from A to Z and everyone was extremely kind but due to the high end stuff i would need most shops where about 2 weeks plus shipping to get a new trans completed.
My last call was to marco abruzzi at about 11am on a wensday.I told marco what i needed, high end powerglide with big shaft input and big 400 shaft output with a 1.65 sonnax to withstand 2500hp.Marco tells me the only thing he had in house was a case,BUT if i gave him the go ahead he would overnight all the parts and get her together ready to ship by friday which was 2 days away!!
I gave him the ok but remembered my current converter was specific to the broken trans therefore i was going to need a new converter as well. Not an issue he took my specs and said he was on it.
Friday at noon abruzzi trans calls me and tells me its ready to ship out on monday and sure enough i have the thing at my door tuesday at noon.
Installing the new trans and converter the only issue i had was the pilot on marco"s converter was 30thow bigger than my other converter and wouldnt fit into the back of my crank.Thank god no issue for me because im related to an industrial machine shop and took em 30 minutes to set her up and remove 30 tho and she fit perfect.
Now 2 weeks later i was able to attend both big races and took number one qualifier at both running 6.00 and 3.82.Marco hit the converter specs dead on.Trans is working flawless.
Just want to give a huge thanks to marco for stepping up,getting things handled as promised and providing a great product as well.
I still have alot of love for the other trans shop but its been 2 weeks and havent heard a peep.

I hope you are able to get your old one fixed up and not lose too much on it.

Also good to hear Marco took good care of you on the new one.

"Dunning-Kruger Effect"
-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

Marco is one hell of a trans builder. I had him build me a converter for my new 9 degree motor prior to the spring fling million. I gave him all the specs of the motor. He told me what it would stall to, flash to and what the rpm drop would be at the shift. After the first couple of runs we reviewed the racepak and it was spot on. I have never had a converter be spot on first try.

I have never heard a bad word about Abruzzi. I'm sure someone, somewhere got upset about something as there is always "that guy" somewhere.
