My plan is to go out & have fun if I'm able. They are going to be night races (thanks), but we normally run daytime races. It would be nice to pull off another Championship. Having fun & doing well is my outlook for the remainder of season.

Sounds like a really good strategy to me. Wink
If most of us think way back to why we got into this game, it was to have fun. Any winnings and trophies are icing on the cake. Big Grin
Good luck with your surgery, and your racing.

Thanks FBJim & everyone else in this post for their advice! I think most all; need to be reminded to have fun in this sport (maybe just me).

I have been very fortunate to have great Sponsors/Partners over most of my 30+ years of racing. The only draw back is the pressure to win & it becomes a job. I found the only fun was winning. It was to be expected when racing someones race vehicle(s) or someone paying 1K-2K for entry fees for big $$$ races.

I'm finally finding fun again with our family race cars. One is owned by a great Sponsor/Partner (Thanks Ace) & our family car has the motor & trans from Ace. He has been one of our best Partner's with 0% pressure. He wants us to go out & have fun.

Thank-You FBJim for the good luck with my surgery & our racing!

Way back in the B&M series I used to watch guys avoid Scotty, it was a skill in it's own!!

Which brings me to a funny story, the late Steve Taylor and his wife Brenda would both race their cavaliers, I watched as Steve, from the lanes, wave off Brenda so she backed up and parked between two trailers waiting for him to call her so just for schitts and giggles I pulled my dragster behind her car boxing her in and got out and walked away and watched as Steve was jumping up and down in the lanes franticly waving her to come up...funny as hell!

He was mad as heck!!

We have no other points races on the schedule. Everything is up in the air, imagine that. The track rules were set-up to count 9 of 12 points races, being able to drop the worst 3. We only have 8 races in the bag. Regardless, the top 2 guys in Pro have done a great job.

Heck, we don't even know if there will be a bracket finals. So many rumors & unknowns in the racing world.

I raced with him in UT. the end of June. He said he wasn't planning on coming for a single race. Our track normally has 2 points races during a weekend. It works well for people that travel in from out of state. Also, he doesn't have anything to really lose with the points rules. Like everything else changing the rules could change. It could nip him in the rear.

I'm the leader on paper, if they follow their points rules. They way it stands now, the 2nd place guy is really leading.

I did line up with the leader in the staging lanes of race #5, round #1. Then a racer about 5 cars ahead in my row, pulled out & botched that plan. After round 1 we are on a ladder.

When I started this thread I wasn't looking for advice, but I ended up taking it. I'm normally aggressive in life & racing. I decided to take a totally chilled, relaxed & fun attitude to the track this past weekend; it paid off! Wink

What a year for our racing. Still leading the points in Pro at Las Vegas Speedway. We are having our last 2 points races the first weekend of Dec. It doesn't make much sense seeing we have already had the bracket finals & world finals. It's what it's. Anyway, hoping to finish well! Either way I'll be 1st or 2nd, because my opponent & I are well ahead of 3rd place guy. But we never know what will happen these days.

Well, our annual Thanksgiving races, the last 2 points races & the remainder of races cancelled for 2020. A fellow racer asked our track manager who our 2020 Champions are. He said he hasn't had time to look at it yet. At this point what does it matter. The Div. 7 Bracket Finals had no ROC & I didn't even attend. I guess the only thing that might happen is a Gold card for next year, but what's next year going to bring for racing?

Hopefully next year will be better for everyone & racing!

I realize weather extends your season. But I can't believe they didn't do the ROC. We had it up in Indy.
And I'm optimistic about 2021. We ran just about a full season this year and with the vaccine and less political influence with the virus, 2021 ought to be completely normal.
Speaking of gold cards....my son got one for his IHRA track championship. But nothing was offered up for the NHRA track championship. Is that not a thing at NHRA tracks or just ours?

Congrats to your son & you!

Here's the Div. 7 changes for the 2020 Bracket Finals & the Flyer.

Pretty standard around here to have the NHRA / Summit points used for the bracket finals, then the track championship is decided at season end.

The final points came out, what a year of unknowns. We ran away from the rest of the field & I finished less than 1 round out of 1st.

USA My hats off to Scott for his 1st place finish!
