Anyone run the Koolverter small fan that mounts on transmission to cool converter? If so does it work and is it worth it.

It's a great idea but one more thing to break on a dragster especially if you get occasional tire shake at the end of the burnout. I use an electric leaf blower with a pvc T on the end. One side has a decent size hole that hits the converter the rest is smaller holes to hit the trans pan.

Went to two finals in high gear only last weekend at the bracket finals. The last four rounds of both races ran in about 60 minutes.

I put one on my door car,it works great!I made mine,7" fan,2 pieces of alum strips,$15 in the whole thing.I turn it on coming back from run to pit spot.In my opinion totally worth it.

This would be on a Suncoast Camaro Roadster, just trying to find another way to get some heat out of the trans.

I put one on this year and pleasantly surprised how well it works. I rarely use the electric fan on my cooler anymore. I am amazed it actually drops the transmission temp pretty quick when parked between rounds.

They crack and will eventually break...

If that is the fan that bolts between converter and flexplate they move a lot of air around the converter and should help. Do not know if they still make them?

"Dunning-Kruger Effect"
-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

Bruce it's not.

I have one but haven't put it on yet because my midplate doesn't encircle the flexplate and I just haven't yet worked to get it mounted. I bought a large carpet drying fan and it works pretty well blowing under my car. I race in high gear only a lot.

They work well, just make sure your motor plate goes down low or encircles so you can mount it, and it wont work with a trans puke tank that mounted on front of trans.

Been running 1 for 2 years and it has never broke.

I've been using one for years. It made a huge difference double entering races. I wouldn't race without it. My midplate doesn't go all the way around the flex plate, I just ran 2 metal straps from the midplate to the fan brackets.

I was thinking it was the fan shogun used to sell. Bolted between converter and flex plate. My mistake. Never heard of or saw this device.

$129 for a $19 Taiwan fan? Homey don't play that

any leaf blower or squirrel cage blower will do the same thing.

I remembered I have an old B&M trans cooler with a small fan on the shelf somewhere. I think I will build my own....
