Racing Fuel Questions
So I have only ever run Methanol and am going to try running gas when it's cool, early Spring and late Fall.

I get the octane numbers like most do. Looking at the Stoichiometric A/F Ratio is there something to consider? VP 110 is 15.09 and C12 is 14.79, what will that tell me tuning wise?

The RVP numbers are 4.8 and 7.92 which I have determined the higher number will give more vapor when starting or running. Is it preferable to run a fuel with a higher RVP because we tend to run our engines cooler?

This is a SBC carbed around 580hp at 12.9-1 compression.

When it's really cold out you might see a tiny bit easier starting with the higher vapor pressure but I doubt it. I ran Av-gas for years and the VP is low on it.

One thing you have to remember is that "most" race engines are well tuned and should have no problem starting, even in colder weather. As far as E.T. goes you won't notice squat difference.

Good luck!
