I've looked at most and struggle to figure out which to pick. Mainly will wear it in smaller cage dragster (i know, i hate them still) with somewhat laided back seat.
What's preferred and why?

They all do the job they were designed for. It all comes down to personal preference. Pick the one you like and is the most comfortable to you.

We have a Necksgen Rev and a Necksgen Rev 2 Lite that we use in our dragsters. They are very small and quick and easy to put on. Once it’s on I forget it’s there. The ones you have to put on over your body before getting in the car seems like an annoying extra step and you have to find a place to store it in/on the car when driving around. We just clip one side of the Necksgen to the helmet and it sits on the roll cage out of the way.

Pretty happy with the Hans still. For the life of me. How in the *** did you come up with the crazy screen name. Still laughing to this day....

TD - i made the name way back when i was young...not having much dough a dragster was a cheaper route....now i can't sell the dam thing for a nickel...so i figure might as well go fast in it lol
my cousin has a necksgen that i tried on in the car and was uncomfortable af. it's a large and from the feel i could probably go medium. maybe the size difference would feel better

Mine is the Neckgen and I like it. I tried some others and HATED it.
My seat does not lay back much so not sure what would work best for your need.

Have a couple of Necksgen 2's. I wear one in my doorcar and one in my dragster. Super easy to put on and use. Does limit your lateral movement (side vision) for looking over your shoulder, but I think they all do. I had a Hybrid before, and find the Necksgen easier to put on when I am already in the car.

Comfortable but forget looking over shoulder or to the side.

i went with the necksgen rev....but in a medium...see how it goes. I dont have to look over my should often until i'm running a quick race. so not a huge deal on looking over my shoulder.

Well by nature a Head and Neck Restraint limits movement of your head. That is the Good news and that is the Bad news. If it does not limit movement some then it is not really protecting you as it should. Also fitment is important as if it is not right then it may not work as well as it should when you need it most.

raced both days over the weekend. I constantly screw with it, until i pull in the water box then don't notice it at all. It's pretty nice setup...need to make a belt adjustment to get the adjusters to stop pushing it back when i pull the belts tight.

Mine slides back a little when I adjust my bests as well. I constantly tug mine forward like you....that is in both cars.

Same here as far as messing with it until I get in the water. Have worn it for years and I still do it.

I'm using a necksgen, as is my son. I'm still often the slower car when running q16 races. So right or wrong, when I have a faster car in the left lane, I will turn my head to the left before really cranking on my belts. I can still look straight. But I can look further left....pretty much all that I want to. Maybe it will make my head pop off if I'm in a doozie of a wreck. I dunno.

I chose the hybrid . Not only frontal , its side to side protection. I dont go fast enough to speak of , but fast enough to die . When set up correctly , there's noticeable head movement restriction. The strap setup keeps this money from playin football too
