| I use the necksgen as well. I have the rev2lite and got my sine the rev. I see virtually no difference in the weight. However, the Rev we got for my son does not have adjustable tethers. My rev2 light does. His is not allowing enough turning for looking, so we will have to order a new tether it appears. Mine we just adjusted.

I'm 21" or so. The unit just has to be narrower than your shoulders, which it obviously will be at large. But also it needs to be wider than your neck, or it's going to be uncomfortable and difficult to put on as well. I think they accomodate up to 6.5" neck width.

They aren't designed to keep your head from going forward, they are designed to keep your head from pulling away from your neck. The testing is pretty brutal, and if they don't meet the standards, they don't pass. A HANS does restrict the head movement forward, but they don't allow as much side to side turning as the Necksgen nor do they offer the side impact protection the Necksgen does. The Necksgen will allow more side to side movement, and your head will travel ****her forward, but it offers better side impact protection. I do know a couple of people that had the Simpson one, they sold them and bought the Necksgen. | I think not only do these need to be adjusted correctly and the helmet hardware added in the right place, but also I have realized that indeed your helmet can go far forward. About as far as I can make it go myself. But it takes more than that to pop your head off of your shoulders.

What track do you normally run at? I have the biggest Necksgen Rev they make, and you are more than welcome to try it out, but it will be another week until I have everything to try it. My helmet is in Illinois for a speaker upgrade right now and I left the helmet connectors on it. |

Once I get my belts just lightly snug, I gently work my necksgen torward the back of the car, rolled up further on my shoulders. Then I tighten the belts TIGHT. Once I do that I can only dip my chin maybe half way to my chest. I realize that under a hard head on impact that my chin will still get to my chest, hopefully the trip there will be slowed a little bit. After doing this for multiple times, it only adds maybe 10 seconds to my strap up time. |
