"Dunning-Kruger Effect"
-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

There isn't any "race grade" methanol. It's either 99.8% pure or greater or it's not. Methanol is a chemical CH3OH. Anything else isn't methanol.

I believe there is a "medical grade" then there is everything else.

There is a lab grade or "medical grade" but remember that some commercial methanol, particularly if not in a sealed drum can be "reclaimed" methanol. I would not run it, I made that mistake once!

Holy crow guys! By "race grade" I was referring to fuel sold by a race fuel name brand, I'm no scientist.

2 drums of alcohol + 1 qt. of klotz = $210

In Ohio and available to everyone.. it is not "name beand" racing methanol ,but lots of races, championships, $$ has been won using it. Never had an issue with it. Been using it for 15 yrs or so.

Baton Rouge, La. Paying 155 (includes tax) for the drum with a core. Gotta bring the old in else they charging $25 drum core. I'm kinda glad about that cause when i'm racing often its easy to go through a few drums and they take up alot of space.

Any additives must be purchased separately. Comes in a sealed 55 gallon drum, forget the name of the supplier but its not VP and its not Sunoco. Purchased from a local hardware/auto parts store anyone can buy, no discounts for buying more drums, not a kin folk deal, etc.

Just wanna put this out there. Mike Croley, renegade fuels manager for Palmdale oil company (my local fuel vendor) just messaged me and told me that my pricing on drums of methanol is now $220 a barrel. Every little bit helps and this certainly did! Thanks Mike!

I just buy it at the track as needed. I know for a fact they're making some $$$ on it and I have no problem with it. No more than we get to go anymore, it's probably safer to just buy 10 gal at the track than it is to keep 53 gallons in the trailer or the shop.
