Wondering if anyone here has had a problem with them. I thought I had ground issue few weeks back when trans brake kept kicking off when testing on stand at shop. Ran new ground and it seemed fine w/o engine not running.

This weekend at track had same issue while in reverse. Oh yea running z force so should be a simple push button .let go and back up. Would move for about 1 to 2 seconds. At first thought i screwed up something in box or wiring. Guess not. Damn for a change it does not seem like its on me.LOL

Anyone with an issue with enclosed FTI solenoid(not that they make them in house),

No problems on the electrical side of things I just started flipping the plunger around so it doesn't get a burr on the rounded end from the hole in the end of the FTI transbrake valve.

I have multiple FTI billet brakes running the enclosed and open style solenoids.

I have a bad idea as to what happened. Just can not say folr sure one way or the other.

I think one ot fhe late night sessions and maybe left power on car and if hit trans brake button with it being z force. It would have been engaged till died.Looks like would have screwed something else up like label if got that hot..

Rremoved solenoid and connect to wiring and still notthing. Even straight wires to power and crounded. Still nothing.

I've seen backup switches not wired through the ignition kill solenoids fairly quick and the labels still look ok.

well now that you mention it the backup switch might be suspect. Well, stupid use of or having it on.

The damn driver needs to get the routine down and eliminate a lot of the problems.

I have never used a back up switch, always just pushed the TB button while backing up, maybe its just me but I have never understood what the big issue was.
And turn off Z force until you get your car to actually go down the track, its just over complicating a simple function

Kind of a pain to back up and turn the wheel holding the transbrake button. I'm typically a footbrake car with a pro brake so I need it just to back up at all so it's not necessarily the same.

When I am index racing and have my transbrake button in I don't want to deal with holding it in and turning the wheel.

Just a thought, if using a separate switch to back up with why not wire in an LED indicator light so you don't leave it on inadvertently......

Those are trans specialites solonoids. Does it have a .100 thick white plastic shim between the solenoid and case? I have fought weird issues when the shim wasnt in there. Had it happen last week on a customers brand new one. We actually had to put 2 shims in it, which backed the solnoid up .200, and then everything worked perfect.

Yea two idiot lights needed. NLOL one for back up button if not gone and second for damn primer. Got to remember a guy coming from top alcohol and injection before primer pumps when almost nobody ran injection.Whole new routine. Twicwe this weekend With all ths other crap myt ass forgot to kill pimer. One it was after shutting off on line towing back. SOB abunch of alky out plug hole and pipe when rotating by hand. Basically total cluster fluck weekend. Part car more driver. Costly too.

Got to wonder what would make a guy who has alrady spent an ungodly ass amount running top alcohol cars. Taken years off except working on other toys and dollars. Was having a blast being male ***** and parting his ass. Want to get married and start back racing soon after?

Oh yea he is crazy. LOL

If you leave the backup button engaged it will smoke the solenoid in a couple of minutes. The sticker will be fine on the outside but if you take it apart you’ll see the coil burned.

It’s best to wire the primer through the ignition switch so it’s less likely to be left on accidentally.

I was going to say the same thing before reading your post.

I've still needed to do an emergency oil change once or twice in 20 years, but wiring it that way makes it idiot-proof on some level.

Had one do the same thing recently. I do not use a back up switch as knew others that left on and burned solenoids.

A momentary on switch for the primer would make it fool proof.

Think to simplify, which I thought I was doing to start with. I am going with benders idea two fold. Momentary on both primer and back up button. I running std brake and not z force I would no problem with just using the button. With Z force I seems easy to screw up by accidentally bumping button when leaning into **** pit.

Probably less chance if not working on car all night and waiting till more wandering around than getting work done to say enough. With two weeks of early morning shutdowns there's better than average chance I just burnt the damn thing up.

Depends on how it's being used. With the Primer Plus, I'm driving all around the pits and back from a run on the primer. Momentary isn't going to work there.

Lennys idea is what I was aiming for. Right now I am good with shutting fuel off to half driving around pits. I know a lot of you guys have zero issue after you get it tuned out volume wise. Right now simple is name of game. Can not teach old dogs new tricks applys here. 30 years of cranking off bottle and rving around half shut fuel has worked. If I can fire the car w/o any crew help, whcih may or amy not have.I am good with it.Will address this later.
Going with Momentarty for a while> Maybe funny having 1/2 cup alky blow-out plug hole but thats about all it funny for.

What I need is poopet between two systems thazt will let the stronger system feed fuel. Would have to be strong enough to not open from high vaccum she shut engine down. Right now have air solenoid that opens when pump runs and shuts when off.

Would work on ignition if running electric ignition. With mag not so much. I know most all run electric. I have two msd mags that I might get 25 cent on the dollar for and no electric deal. Plus mags will work better when running 25 to 35% load for fun. Now if someone has electric ignition that will work with a Hemi(ccw rotation) drop it in mail and I will be happy to try it out.LOL
