1000 runs on my Strange 1350s that came with the drive shaft. 6.40s S10. Not a lot of power, same runs on the ring and pinion and I just looked at it. Perfect, won't take it out again until it "wants out".
OK, I guess I'll let them ride. Have to check my records but they've been in there a while, couple of different motors and transmissions and quite a few passes. Whenever you see someone spit out a driveshaft it makes you think about it. That's why I have a quality shaft, joints and yokes. Witnessed expensive carnage from driveshafts.

When I bought my car in 2007 it had a 1310 or 1330 to 1350 conversion for the pinion yoke. I changed pinion yoke and new shaft to 1350 immediately. My car leaves soft with 1.37 60’s and front wheels down.
I think some racers may over tighten the pinion u-bolt nuts not using a torque wrench or the correct torque settings.

I believe Spicer says 20 ft lbs and I know MW says 18 ft lbs. They also write to pre torque to 12-15 ft lbs and finish at what they list. I’ve always used torque wrench method on mine.

I have a driveshaft reluctor on the pinion shaft and use a wrench extension to torque the u-bolt nuts. They have programs on the net that will show you what values to set your torque wrench to give the extension length.

When I upgraded my driveline I read about the torque spec and the overtorqueing being a cause of joint failure. I wrote the spec on the rear housing with paint marker so I don't have to look it up if I pull the shaft.

Those specs fall right in the specs put out for that size bolt. 5/16.
