FootbrakeJimBattery for Gas Golf Cart? (EZ-Go)
My EZ-Go gas powered cart is a 1981 vintage, believe the model is Marathon. The old starting battery finally died. Cannot find any markings on the case - None. Looks almost as old as the cart. Anybody know where to go for a direct replacement? Or have a brand & P/N that will fit and function well? It is 12V, no idea how many amps or reserve capacity, but probably doesn't need a whole lot for either of those specs... It is about half the width of a basic car battery. Hoping for a local Walmart or Parts store option.
Thanks in advance.

diceman1530Mine takes a group 24 battery,but it's full size.
Try a group 51 or 51r depending on terminal location. They are used in Hondas.

Thank you, Dave.

That was very helpful. I measured the available space, and it was able to accommodate a Group 75 cheapo battery from O'Reilly, and with a mechanic's account discount of about $30 it was just a few bucks more than a direct replacement. I did find a date code on the old battery, it was a 2007 vintage.
Thing starts quicker than ever now, and will have plenty of reserve capacity.

(That new battery spec'd out for a 77-80 Suburban with a 305 V-8).
I appreciate the help, fellas.
