It appears to be crawling off the line. 1.45 60’ and 6.50 1/8 mile et are numbers that better match his 1/8th mile mph. I understand he’s racing 1/4 but more gear And/or more traction may help the time slip look more balanced.

The 60' is about a tenth or more slow for that mph in my opinion.
If the engine leaves the line cleanly, it's the convertor or suspension in my opinion.

Cool

6.50 3250 lbs is 106 - 107, ain't it?

I go 112 holding a little 6.50 index 3250 lbs. I got a home built, do-it-yourselfer sbc though.

Trans keeps burning high gear clutches.
Could that have some dragging effect on this?

Assuming nothing stupid is going on such as shifter linkage not adjusted correctly or ?, find another trans builder, there is no way your combo should be hurting high gear clutches!

I was thinking the same thing. Who did the tranny and what do they say about burning up clutches that there is no way you should be hurting.

Agree with others - look at 60' time. My much slower Chevelle was a tad quicker than you in 60', see below.

6600 1/4 mile @ 128 mph, the converter is slipping 0%.

You must mean 1/8 mile? If not the converter is way too snug.

0% at 7800 - 8000 - 8200 rpm, would be an indication the converter is correct.

0% @ 6600 128 mph, says the converter is way too efficient.

Ya gotta be specific, ya gave 1/4 mile data, I can only presume you're speaking 1/4 @ 128 mph.

The info is for the 1/4 mile with the incremental numbers for the pass.

Converter needs a stator & adjustment, this converter wasn't built for a sbf. It should cross around 7300 with the converter right for the cars sbf, slipping 10%.

Then you put a 4.30 gear in it, it'll cross 7600 slipping 6 - 7 %. It'll also et quite a bit better with the 3.90 gear slipping 10%, crossing 7300 rpm, though too.

Broken sprag in the converter? Transbrake or footbrake? If transbrake, does it lug the engine going to the two-step?
