Brian King, little man doesn’t realize you’ve already won a big bucks race in your mustang. You best Becky Phelgar in the final as I recall.

Mike,

Good having you back on here!

Yes, you have a pretty good memory, yes a big check. I went through a sea of pipe racks with that small tire Mustang. I get confused with the Phelgar's, tough racer's. I also ran them both at the Bracket Finals; John, Becky & I in the semi-finals. They wanted to split, but I don't believe in splitting. I raced & beat Becky in the Semi's. Then went on to win against John in the finals. That paid over $7K in cash! Big Grin

As for my Wally's, he's seen the rearend of one of them. He begged his Daddy to snoop in the PMs to see it & other things.

Sorry, John, Becky & family I think we messed up on spelling your last name.

Come on it’s been a few years Big Grin! Hell, I forget who I was sharing the PA duties with but it was a great weekend.

I’m sure little man was busy that weekend winning some race that nobody was at.

No, I'm pretty sure you nailed it with Becky on that one race. I was talking a different race with John & Becky in the semis & finals.

I'm sure I have more big money races & Wally's to share with SL's #1 DRR Forum B1TCH!

Here's the Mustang, I hate Fords; but that was one bad B1tch!

1st year out with it we won 7 out 8 races with it & the other race was a runner up. One of them races was for a Wally. We raced at 3 or 4 different tracks that year. Big Grin

So which pushrod did you go with the one on the left or right? LOL I thought y'all might like to see this contrasting pic of a stock LS pushrod on the left and one out of a ProMod on the right.

For what it's worth, I called Manton, Trend, Comp and every big name brand of pushrods out there to order a set for our motor earlier this Spring and no one had any. Called Smith Brothers and not only was the price better than any other guys, they had a set shipped out same day. Highly recommended! Very high quality and they even answered a few questions and had exactly what we were looking for.

18* Wannabe heads, these things have been called many things; 18* clones seems to be the #1 name. I have the 18 SP X heads & the link below has all the specs.

As for going fast, I have 2 set-ups to hopefully have. One 9.20 - 9.30 range for the local brackets & one around 8.60 for big $ brackets. I should only need around 950 hp max & this ProCharger head unit good for plenty more.

UPDATE: Pushrods are holding up opening against boost & if they do bend/break, I'll chalk it up to "Race engines don't break sitting in the garage or trailer."

I built engines for 45 yrs and about halfway through those years I found Smith Bros pushrods and never looked back. Pushrods are one of the last things to order because you don't know whats going to be perfect for the combination until the end of the build when everything is bolted together. Other suppliers ALWAYS held me up for weeks. Smith Bros had them to me in 2-3 days. Any length, tip, taper, diameter or wall thickness I asked for.
