Was running Hoosier 18300 32.5x16.5x15

Put way over 130 runs on the tires. I have the car leaving easy. This year with the heat and it track prep.. Everyone having troubles..I just leave it detuned of the line.

Car went a best of 1.24 when turned up in the heat. Mostly went 1.27-1.28 detuned for bracket racing.

Since I'm getting slicks wanted to hear what others were having success with.

Also. For humor. Do you check your tire pressure every round and readjust
. Or set it and leave it.

Hey Ski,I run the Hoosier 18372 15x33x15 stiff sidewall and love 'em.Best tire I've had on a door car.My 60s are 1.10 to 1.12 when the track is so-so.I highly recommend them.We set the tires before the water every round to stay more consistent.My car is 2550 w/me,works best @7lbs.

Your current tire is way too big and heavy for the car and power but if you're happy with it, why change it?

I don't disagree the tire might be overkill. But it can't hurt and I built the car/tire for more than I need... And room for more down the road if I so choose

I agree with you, Ski...I'd rather have tire overkill and a car that hooks up in a mud puddle for bracket racing...

He asked for opinions about his slicks so I offered mine and I've got that car with far less tire though I can run his tire. Further, numerous bracket racers I know are too running well into the 8s with a 32/14 tire, some smaller on their back halved car.

To qualify a tire for Super Pro bracket racing you gotta look at how consistent it is in competition over 7 or 8 laps in a race.

This is a 28 x 10 M/T, moved 3 thou over 7 runs. Which in turn told me by experimentation, this is a good tire Super Pro bracket racing.

your junk is so good, you haven't raced in years thats why the photos of those time slips don't show the dates and you carry on worse than a toddler not getting their way about a round loss because you believe there was a conspiracy by track officials to stop you from advancing. Further, your self proclaimed fame is that you were a multi time track champ at your local duck pond with your shyt box over a decade ago.

Those slips are from 1971. No prep on a 10 x 28 factory condition Nova font and back seat delete .

Go as far back as you like. Tire either works or it don't, this is the evidence, 10 x 28 does.

Jesse, that tire is not the best for your setup. If you want to keep the width and can handle a slightly taller tire, go with the 18400 Hoosier with a D05. If you can't do the taller tire, you'll have to give up some of the width and go with the 18260 or 18245 Hoosier.

Have you ever ran the MT 3080 tire? I have really good luck after I finally get a pair the same size. I'm just sick of sending back 2 or 3 pair to get 1 good one. I got a set of these Hoosiers as test tires when they were developing them and it just didn't seem as consistent. I'm guessing that was my fault. I didn't spend time adjusting pressures and shock settings to optimize that tire. They sent me 2 sets in different compounds and they ended up going with the slightly softer D06. I'm thinking about trying them again and was just curious if you had run them both (the mt and Hoosier) and which you like better. I agree it is the best Hoosier I've tried.

I would say the MT 3080 will work well, over tired and underpowered is great for bracket racin*. Make it hook up in a car wash and drive it like you stole it.

Hey Inferno! Yes I did run 3080s before I went to the 18372s.They both work great,but I can get Hoosiers local at a WAY better deal,they don't leak,and they're about 3-4 #s faster.

Do you think consistency is as good? You weigh around 2500 and running around 5.0 right?

Consistency starts and ends with the knucklehead wearing the brain bucket. If you can’t stage flicking the stage bulb every time and with the water temp and trans temp exactly the same every time, it don’t matter whose or what size tire you run!

1320 racer has it covered as his statement about being a bit big is very true for the weight. He also stated that if you like whay it works and prints tickets why change. You also stated everyone at the races having trouble but you. It must have been a good year for late and final round apperances for you as stated your tire-car combination worked as others would not.
