so I normally would run the NGK R5671A-7 in my old motor was just a conventional headed 13.1 comp BBC I recently bought a 584 with -20 heads and the motor has R5671A-9 in it which is a cold plug this is a 15.1 NA deal. what are guys running with similar set ups

Well you are running 7s at 13:1, I am running 8s at 14:1 and they have 9s in it at 15:1 so I am kind of thinking that is about right? Lots other factors aside of comp ratio though.

Better to be too cold than too hot to start.

We have always run -9 in a 15:1 to 15.5:1 24* BBC, Gas or Alky. I suppose on gas we could've gotten away with -8, but they never gave us an issue so we left it.

Does or Has anyone used the Autolite AR3933 which is the equivalent to the NGK R5671A-9 ? Opinion?

Junk, used them years ago and Wouldn’t make 100 before developing a miss. Poor quality control. Sunset Racecraft and other engine builders experienced the same and stopped using them.

9s in everything from injected alky at 12:1 to injected nitro at 14/8:1 including blown alky 540 ci @12.5:1. Very versatile. You can always start with one run and get baseline make swap for the weekend and see how motor likes it.

Running 9's in my 16.5:1 665" on alky. Have experienced some plug issues including misfires on NGK, but mostly trouble free. Use them primarily for tuning then switch to the Autolites. Autolites last longer and I've had zero issues with them. NGK are easier to read though....

You're using Autolite AR3933 ? I don't read plugs, just replace. I read my DA and ET slip.
