I’m currently using a moroso style water pump drive with a separate motor and belt to drive the water pump. Looking for a reliable concealed electric pump. I’m limited on space between the water pump and radiator so I need the short style pump. I’ve done some research and the CVR 7550 is one of the only short style I’ve found. Are these pumps any good? Are there any other good options? Thanks in advance

Why not use a remote pump if space is so tight?

Been using a remote for years. Two that I have used personally are the Sherwood Aqua Tiger and the Dedenbear. The Meziere’s are supposed to be good also and there is another brand that is pretty compact that I can’t remember the name of right now. Good luck with whatever you decide.

We use a Dedenbear WP-1 electric pump on our TD, as there isn't much room between the front of the engine and the back of the radiator.

Simple, reliable, but might be hard to find cheap:

The shortest block mounted electric pump Meziere makes for the SBC WP101 will be 6.78" from the block mounting surface to the tip of the electric motor. WP101 the HD model is 7.28"

We also make remote water pumps. a good choice would be our WP116.

Feel free to call us at Meziere if you have any questions.

Make sure your water pump is on whenever you check your coolant level.

David, thanks for the info and the link to the Dedenbear. It looks like a nice compact unit.

1leg, thanks for the exact specifications on the Meziere pumps. Meziere was my initial choice.

I've had a Dedenbear on my SBC since the 90s. WP1.

I had the same setup as you. I went to the deadenbear when I went to a belt driven pump and put a fuel cell up front to gain room and run my alternator.

I could get you measurement tomorrow if needed. The vertically mounted motor keeps it compact.

Cool

M120 thanks for the offer but no need to measure, Dedenbear has the depth listed at 4.25”.
