Do you wire to a separate switch or just hook it into the ignition? Didn't know if one or the other had an advantage. Never have ran one.

Mine was wired to the ignition but I put a toggle switch right on one end of the unit.
This was in my dragster so if I needed to turn the ignition on to do something like see my tach recall, the accumulator solenoid would not open....I did that often and from outside the car so getting to the switch was easy.

Mine is wired to the ignition because I always want it to work as a preluber.
I also have another switch in line so I can turn on the ignition if need be without the accumulator emptying into the pan. The second switch is in a location that is not easily or accidentally switched to off.

Mine have been wired to the ignition switch. I would hit ign sw before the starter sw to prelube then turn off ign and crank then turn ign on.
Just an FYI, even if the valve is not energized, it will still fill the accumulator when the engine is running in case you never had one before.

This is true and the solenoid valves are directional. Acts like a check valve when shutoff and the pressure keeps the valve tight.
The only negative about them is dirty oil and gunk will be in the tank unless you pull it apart periodically to clean it
Also the piston can get stuck if the mounting straps distort the can....
I ran a 3 qt. Moroso for years....

What size line? This SHP block has a provision by the filter pad, but it's only a 3/8 pipe.
I could drill and tap it bigger.

SCDIV1, I found out the hard way years ago. I started a fresh engine with the accusump connected but the solenoid was not energized. I only added enough oil to run and then drain. It's very disheartening to have the oil light illuminate!!! Half the oil ended up in the accusump.
I made a tool to remove the end caps using Allen head cap bolts and scrap metal for cleaning. That and a strap wrench makes it easy to disassemble.
On my SBC I used #10 with whatever a 70's stock block NPT is.

I have a -10 line run on mine. I use the Moroso filter adapter in place of the stock unit and it has 1/2"npt ports.

I used the Moroso sandwich adapter that goes between oil filter and block
It adds 2 large ports and I used a -10 or -12 line....
Block has to be ground or machined to allow access to those ports. Dart Big M or GM Bowtie....BB

I made a spanner and more than once had issues with my Accusump
Managed to splatter myself and my trailer more than once....dumbs-h-i-t attack.....
I never added the full 3 quarts for the tank during an oil change
I decided to remove the Accumulator one day and sold it..
First race I went to I regretted it......Oil light flickered on in the shutdown ....15lb switch

Chad, I have mine hooked up to the ignition switch. I do like the idea of a kill switch if your turning on ignition for some other purpose than starting the engine
