I currently have a set of Weld pro magnum 2.0 gold center section wheels on my Vega 15x4 5x4.75" with 1.75"BS. I need to have 2.25" BS and I have contacted Weld and they say that the center section has nothing to do with BS. They say on these wheels it is set by what the referred to as the "Barrel" which I assume is the outer rim.

I cannot seem to find anywhere that there is even an option for 2.25" BS on these wheels. Does anyone know if Weld made this wheel with 2.25" BS?

I wish I could but that isn't an option.

Weld has not been much help since they stated to me in an email that they don't make them anymore. They have not responded to any of my emails since asking for a part number or something so I can try to search it out.

The Weld wheels I've dealt with, they are correct in saying the center has nothing to do with back space. The only difference I've seen is when using the higher rated SFI wheels, the centers add an extra 1" due to more material(wheels for T/A or T/F) These are usually 5 or 5.5 spacing. You really need the right wheel barrels to get the correct offset.

What Mike said. The center has NOTHING to do with the backspacing of a wheel.

Weld finally responded but it was very brief....they don't sell the wheels anymore and don't have a part number for the correct barrel as the barrels are not sold separately.

You would think that they would spend a few seconds longer and let me know if they even made those wheels with a 2.25" BS and what the part number of that wheel would be....

This is a pain but with the cost of wheels now I have to exhaust all my options on these first.

You might check with Holeshot wheels, they will make you most any custom backspace wheel you want. They make pretty nice wheel and are made right here in the states. I had them make me a custom set 10 years ago and I thought the wheel were very nice and they were easy to work with which is always a plus.

Stan - Check with Sander Engineering - http://www.sanderengineering.com/

They do custom wheels and they might be able to modify your existing set. He is a nice guy and builds good stuff at a good price.

Stan see if you can find a really old Summit or Jegs catalog that might have those 3 piece wheels listed.

Weld is terrible. Terrible customer service and I had a set of those wheels that cracked in 3 places less than 2 years old and they would not help in any way. I can tell you that they did make them in the 2.25 backspace because that is what I needed as well. I am not sure of the part number though.
