wideopen231Burn out chip or 3 step
Seems I read few things here about issue caused by 3 step I guess you call it, A burnout rpm limiter. Was part of conversation I got into at last outing when kind of hung her tongue out little on burnout. Hell did not want to roll some smokeon the one before it.LOL
Basically had guy telling me why i needed one and how much better. I mean hell doubt was much over 8500.ok probably under 8k and have turned same parts 10k shifts when has blower on it. Plus still below rev limiter chip.
Any who use, have used or refuse to use drop a comment.

AlaskaracerI've used one, try not to though. Current setup has one wired in, but I don't use it unless the track is completely crap. Rev limiters are VERY hard on an engine during burnout....I just watch the tach and try to maintain rpm.

David CoveyI have ran a burnout chip since mid 90's after dropping valve in the burnout.

Still do even with the blower.

Bruce WilliamsI think its just a matter of personal preference.
I do not use a burn out chip.
With that being said I do use a RPM limiter on the starting line.
Seems the limiting action would be the same either way.
With my TD I do a very short burnout at maybe 7K. I just watch the tach.

Lenny5160Have one hooked up, have used it in the past, haven’t used it in several years.
I just stare at the big 7 on the tach and try to keep it around there.
