I had the same issue happen to me on my Hardtail. Tire shake on my burnout and engine died.I have a MSD Grid ignition. Got back to my shop after pulling my hair out trying to find the cause at the track to no avail.Turned out to be one of the smaller wires in the main buss plug was not seated in the plug completely. I was going through all the wires and I pushed that one in about a 16th of an inch, felt it seat and fixed it.

Found the issue was the ignition wire. It pulled right out of the connector in my hand. I just rewired the entire car last weekend, so I don't have to worry about it anymore. Its amazing what people cheap out on on these cars!!!! Don't put walmart terminals on your race car folks!
